The project gives people over the age
of 55 the opportunity to work with professional artists
to learn new skills and gain confidence in their creative
abilities.
Wearpurple believes that participation within the arts
has a positive effect on people's well being.
The arts help to raise people's self-esteem, confidence
and motivation and these experiences have wider reaching
benefits in the everyday lives of the people involved. |

Since the project started in March 2001, Wearpurple has
employed artists of various media to work with local groups,
individuals, day care centres & residential homes across
the Borough, resulting in a wealth of new art work and opportunities
for older people.
