| This project was a result of funding from the Cheshire Music
Partnership and a successful Wearpurple project in 2004 with
musician Aidan Jolly. |
| |
 |
Aidan ran four music sessions in a day
care centre in each of the six Boroughs of Cheshire.
A video artist was also involved in the process.
This added to the experience for the participants and
allowed Aidan to explore and record the memories, songs
and experiences of the participants on another level,
a shadowing opportunity was also offered.
All of the recorded material was edited to produce
‘Dandelion’ a short film using music, sounds,
song and movement to tell the stories of the lives and
experiences of the older generation in Cheshire. |

The general feedback from this project has been extremely
positive. With many care staff commenting on the positive
effects that music has when triggering memories of the past.
Opening up discussions and encouraging the participants to
join in with group activities.
Copies of Dandelion are available from the project coordinator
